Story

Returning to RAF Perranporth in a Spitfire Vc, Flight Sergeant Mervyn Francis Nolan (1360) attempted to overshoot, struck a telegraph pole and wires, stalled and crashed onto a cottage at Trevellas, St Agnes, 2 miles south of Perranporth. The cottage was occupied by Mrs A Walker, who was seriously injured, and her four year old son, Barry (2210) was killed along with the pilot.
